Diane cragg

Senior Trial Attorney

Diane P. Cragg is an experienced litigator and trial attorney with Huey Lam PC, where she is responsible for developing and overseeing litigation and trial strategy in a broad range of employment matters.

Diane has tried cases to verdict before juries and the bench and has prevailed in arbitration. She first-chaired a 16-day trial prosecuting claims for breach of fiduciary duty, self-dealing and fraud. Diane also served as lead trial counsel in a personal injury action arising from a motor vehicle collision, which resolved on favorable terms. She secured complete verdicts in favor of her clients in a jury trial in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California as well as a personal injury arbitration.

Before joining Huey Lam PC, Diane spent almost seven (7) years as a litigator and trial attorney at the California Department of Justice ("Cal DOJ"), where she represented the Attorney General, the Governor, and various state agencies in lawsuits involving alleged constitutional violations. Prior to her time at the Cal DOJ, Diane litigated financial services and employment cases at several law firms, including Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner and Severson & Werson.

While in law school, Diane served as a legal intern to the Honorable Bernard Zimmerman, United States Magistrate Judge for the Northern District of California, and to the Honorable Stuart R. Pollak of the San Francisco Superior Court, who currently serves as a Presiding Justice of Division Four of the California Court of Appeal, First Appellate District. Those internships gave her an early, behind-the-bench view of how judges evaluate evidence, argument, and advocacy - a perspective she brings to every case she handles.

Diane earned her JD from Golden Gate University School of Law, where she received the CALI Award for Trial Advocacy, given to the single top student in the trial advocacy program each year. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of San Francisco. Diane continues to hone her courtroom skills through advanced trial training, including the National Association of Attorneys General Advanced Trial Techniques program. She is also an attorney member of the Animal Legal Defense Fund.
